The Academy's fellowship and honours system is designed to build an internationally recognised academic community for Chinese medicine, and to set a benchmark of excellence for the profession. The Academy offers a progressive pathway of membership grades, honorary titles and academic appointments that recognise scholarship, clinical excellence and contribution to the advancement of Chinese medicine. Academic titles conferred by the Academy are awarded by its Academic Committee in accordance with the Academy's internal standards.

The Academy's highest honour, conferred upon exceptionally distinguished scholars, masters and leaders whose lifetime contributions have profoundly shaped the field of Chinese medicine. Conferred by nomination and assessment, without a years-of-standing requirement.
Awarded to Senior Members of at least three years' standing who have made a sustained and significant contribution to research, education or clinical practice in Chinese medicine. Conferred through nomination by at least two current Fellows and assessment by the Academic Committee.
An intermediate grade awarded to Members of at least two years' standing who have demonstrated notable professional contribution. Senior Membership is a prerequisite for progression to Fellow.
The entry grade, open to qualified practitioners, researchers and postgraduate scholars committed to advancing Chinese medicine. Available by application, subject to review of credentials by the Secretariat.
An honorary appointment offered to eminent professors and clinicians who contribute to the Academy's teaching, research and international exchange activities. Conferred by invitation of the Academic Committee.
Appointed to accomplished researchers who lead or collaborate on the Academy's research projects and scholarly initiatives. Conferred by invitation based on academic collaboration.
Fellowship and Honorary Fellowship are conferred through a rigorous nomination process to safeguard the standing of the Academy's titles:
A candidate is nominated by at least two current Fellows of the Academy, or by the Academic Committee.
The nomination is submitted with the candidate's academic record, publications, and evidence of contribution to the field.
The Academic Committee assesses each nomination against standards of scholarship, integrity, years of standing and professional impact.
Successful candidates are formally conferred the title and admitted to the fellowship of the Academy.
Membership and Senior Membership are available by application, subject to review of credentials and years of standing by the Secretariat. Academic appointments (Visiting Professor and Senior Research Fellow) are offered by invitation of the Academic Committee based on collaboration.
