王琦，1943年2月12日出生于江苏省扬州市高邮，现为北京中医药大学终身教授、国家中医体质与治未病研究院院长。自20世纪70年代起，他长期从事中医体质研究，历经40余年系统考察体质与疾病发生、发展及预后的相关性，发现并提出中国人的九种基本体质类型，据此创立中医体质学这一新兴学科分支，并牵头制定了中国首部体质分类行业标准，创建体质辨识方法，为中医治未病理论与实践提供了系统化的操作路径。他还构建并完善了中医体质学、中医男科学、中医藏象学、中医腹诊学四大学术体系。1997年被评为第二批全国老中医药专家学术经验继承工作指导老师，2013年获评第二届国医大师，2019年当选中国工程院医药卫生学部院士。

Born on 12 February 1943 in Gaoyou, Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, Wang Qi is a lifetime professor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and director of the National Institute of TCM Constitution and Preventive Medicine. Since the 1970s he has devoted over four decades to research on body constitution in Chinese medicine, systematically examining the relationship between constitution types and the onset, progression and prognosis of disease. He identified and proposed nine basic constitutional types among the Chinese population, and on this basis founded the emerging discipline of TCM constitution theory, leading the drafting of China's first industry standard for constitution classification and developing a method for constitution identification, providing a systematic practical framework for the theory and practice of preventive treatment in Chinese medicine. He has also built and refined four major academic systems: TCM constitution theory, TCM andrology, TCM visceral manifestation theory, and TCM abdominal diagnostics. He was named a mentor in the second cohort of the National Programme for the Inheritance of Veteran TCM Experts' Academic Experience in 1997, was honoured as a Guoyi Dashi (National Master of Chinese Medicine) in the second such cohort in 2013, and was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (Division of Medicine and Health) in 2019.
