About this index. Source: WHO ICD-11 for Mortality and Morbidity Statistics (2024-01), Chapter 26, Module I. English titles, codes, Chinese terms and definitions are reproduced from the official WHO classification (via the WHO ICD-API and WHO ICD-11 MMS reference materials). This index is provided for educational and research reference only and does not constitute clinical, coding, or regulatory advice.
Australian context. Australia currently reports admitted-patient morbidity using ICD-10-AM, not ICD-11. No implementation date for ICD-11 has been announced. IHACPA commenced an ICD-10-AM → ICD-11 mapping project in 2023 (expected to conclude around 2026) to assess ICD-11’s fitness to replace ICD-10-AM. ICD-11 Chapter 26 (Traditional Medicine) is a newly added chapter with no equivalent in ICD-10-AM; there is at present no Australian standard mapping traditional-medicine patterns to local codes. ANACMS maintains this index as part of its ICD-11 readiness work.
